DESCRIPTION
These McKee's poles are an excellent choice for anyone looking for technical equipment that combines lightness and versatility. The black and light blue design is not only eye-catching, but also identifies a product designed for serious hiking.
Structure and materials
Carbon composition: being made of carbon, they offer an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio. Carbon also has the natural property of absorbing vibrations better than aluminum, reducing joint fatigue (wrists and elbows) during long walks.
Telescopic system: The structure is divided into three adjustable sections. This allows you to easily compact them for carrying in your backpack and to adjust the height according to the slope of the terrain.
Grip and comfort
Extended Grip: this is one of the most functional features. The foam extends downwards along the shaft, allowing you to lower your grip quickly during steep climbs without having to adjust the height of the pole every time.
Soft-Touch Material: The grip is made of high-density EVA foam, which guarantees a secure grip even with sweaty hands and excellent thermal insulation in winter.
Adjustable wrist straps: The light blue straps are wide and padded, designed to distribute your body weight without excessively tightening the wrist.
Technical details
Fast Lock locking system: they use light blue external aluminum clips (Flip Lock). Compared to twist locks, these are much faster and more secure, especially if you are wearing gloves or if temperatures are low.
Tips and Protectors: In the photo, rubber tips for asphalt or hard ground are fitted, but the tip underneath is typically made of tungsten/carbide for maximum traction on rock and ice.
Usage tip: to maximize the lifespan of the carbon, avoid subjecting the poles to excessive lateral stress (such as wedging them between rocks and prying), since carbon is extremely resistant to vertical compression but more sensitive to transverse impacts.
